Day 0 Kiel, Germany

Kiel is a port on both sides of the Kiel Fjord, an inlet of the western Baltic Sea, and lies at the eastern end of the Kiel Canal. Kiel has a long shipbuilding and naval tradition but today it is characterised by its vibrant student scene, laid-back lifestyle and urban flair. The city features shipping and ethnography museums, and the Institute of Marine Biology contains an aquarium. The main tourist attraction is the Kieler Woche (Kiel Week) at the end of June, an international regatta and cultural festival.

Day 2 Haugesund, Norway

Haugesund is a vibrant young city touting culture and arts festivals. Among them is the Norwegian International Film Festival or Sildajazz festival, with a mix of local and international artists. While it is possible to explore the city on foot, it may be beneficial to hire a car to see the surrounding area. Discover the Langfoss Waterfall or the Folgefonna Glacier to the north and the Preikestolen Mountains to the south.

Day 4 Leknes, Norway

Located in the Lofoten Islands, Leknes is known as the trading and shopping center of the islands and can cater to a variety of interests. The natural surroundings of the town are regarded to be among the most stunning in Norway, with mountains, peaks, cliffs and white sandy beaches.

Sortland, a town and municipality in Nordland county, Norway is a commercial centre and transit hub. Local artist Bjorn Elvenes came up with the idea of turning his home town into a three dimensional artwork using a blue colour palette. Sortland and the Vesterålen region are perfect for observing the spectacular Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and The Midnight Sun phenomenon.

Alta is largest town in Norway's Finnmark offers winter adventures, northern lights, midnight sun, mountains, Sami culture, reindeer and World heritage rock carvings. The biggest attraction in town is a collection of Unesco protected rock carvings, dating from around 4200 to 500 BC. Sorrisniva has a 2,500m2 igloo hotel, located just outside the Northern Lights city of Alta, where you will be ideally positioned for seeing the Northern Lights.

Stavanger is the gateway to the Norwegian fjords. The city centre of Stavanger is quite compact, with original dockside warehouses and pretty 18th-century streets climbing up from a bustling harbour, which makes it easy to reach most attractions on foot. On your walk you can easily stop by some of the city's many museums, such as the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, Stavanger museum of Fine Arts and the Norwegian Canning museum.
