The Finnish capital also boasts a fantastic array of museums, among them the Ateneum Art Museum and the Design Museum.
Day 2 Tallinn, Estonia
Tallinn, the capital of Estonia is something of a medieval theme park, with one of the best preserved Old Towns that you're ever likely to see. Visby is the capital of Gotland, the largest island in the Baltic Sea and located about 60 miles (90 km) from mainland Sweden. Visby is a popular vacation destination for Scandinavians during the summer and receives thousands of tourists every year. The word 'charming' was invented for this town: red rose-covered cottages, tall towers, turrets and spires, shady arches and 'twisty-turny' cobblestone streets and old shops. UNESCO made Visby one of its protected World Heritage Sites in 1995.
Day 5 Riga, Latvia
Riga, Latvia's capital, is set on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the River Daugava. Riga is known for its wooden buildings, art nouveau architecture and medieval Old Town where you can find many shops and restaurants and is home to busy Livu Square, with bars and nightclubs. Rostock is the largest city in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and lies at the mouth of the Warnow River on the Baltic Sea. It’s known for Rostock University, Rostock Botanical Garden and the Gothic St. Mary’s Church.
Day 8 Malmo, Sweden
Malmo is a coastal city in southern Sweden. It lies at the eastern end of the striking Oresund Bridge, a long road and railway bridge-tunnel running to Copenhagen, Denmark. In the city center, Lilla Torg is a cobblestone square with cafes, half-timbered houses and shops selling local handicrafts.
