Ilulissat, formerly Jakobshavn or Jacobshaven is the municipal seat and largest town in western Greenland. The city is home to almost as many sled-dogs as people. Ilulissat is situated about 180 miles north of the Polar Circle. Therefore there is midnight sun from May 20th to July 20th. The winter darkness begin at the end of November until the sun returns on January 13th in this period we have the finest northern light in the world.
