Day 0 Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik, on the coast of Iceland, is the country's capital and largest city. It is the centre of culture and life of the Icelandic people as well as being one of the focal points of tourism in Iceland. For passengers spending time in the city there is a wide choice of museums, galleries, restaurants and cafes. Shooping is a must too and the ultimate relaxation experience is a trip to one of the city's thermal baths and pools.

Day 1 Heimaey Island, Iceland

Heimaey Island is the largest island in the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago and the only one that is inhabited. It has a population of approximately 4,000 people, and fascinating, dark history. In January 1973, lava flow from nearby Eldfell destroyed half the town and threatened to close its harbour, its main income source. An operation to cool the advancing lava with seawater saved the harbour. Most people on the island live off fishing. During an annual festival, people are allowed to catch a few puffins to share at the festival, or to eat at home.

Day 3 Seydisfjordur, Iceland

Seydisfjordur, made up of multicoloured wooden houses and surrounded by snowcapped mountains and cascading waterfalls obscenely picturesque, is the most historically and architecturally interesting town in East Iceland. It's also a friendly place with an international community of artists, musicians, craftspeople and students. Every visitor will enjoy outdoor activities like walkng, hiking and biking and especially snowshoeing.

Day 4 Akureyri, Iceland

Akureyri is a lively and energetic town and important port and fishing centre is nicknamed the Capital of North Iceland. Akureyri is great base for exploring the north's green pastures, fishing villages, mudpots, waterfalls, ski fields and whale-filled bays. The Northern Lights are one of the most spectacular shows on earth and can frequently be seen in Akureyri and surroundings from September through April on clear and crisp nights.

Day 5 Isafjordur, Iceland

The port of Isafjordur is the largest of all harbours located in the Westfjords region of Iceland. Isafjordur has a range of accommodation, restaurants and recreation for all budgets and tastes. A golf course, hiking- and biking trails, horse riding, bird watching, skiing and kayaking are all within an easy reach.

Day 7 Nanortalik, Greenland

Nanortalik a town in Nanortalik Island southern Greenland stands on an island, literally and figuratively. Nanortalik town has the only forest in Greenland. The wildlife of the Nanortalik island is rather sparse due to native hunters. Every year a number of bears are sighted in the area, but they rarely present a threat to people. During the spring and late summer, there are many whales in the waters around the town, with minke whales being the most common visitors. Nanortalik is a popular place for hiking, climbing, kayaking and swimming in the hot springs.

Day 8 Qaqortoq, Greenland

Qaqortoq is the largest town in South Greenland and popular destination for cruise ships. It has picturesque, coloured houses, great stores as well as arts and culture. Qaqortoq is well-connected with the surrounding South Greenlandic landscape that is full of adventure opportunities and the fjords around the city are popular kayaking destinations. Locals will recommend to visit hot springs at Uunartoq and experience the 38 degree Celsius warm water in this bathtub made by nature.

Day 10 LAnse aux Meadows, Canada

L'Anse aux Meadows is an archaeological site on the northernmost tip of the Great Northern Peninsula on the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. L'Anse aux Meadows was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1968 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. Today, it is the site of a popular interpretive centre and ongoing archaeological research.
