Day 3 Edinburgh, Scotland

The Old Town, which was constructed during the Middle Ages when there was a continual fear of assault, huddles high on the Castle Rock with a view over the surrounding plain below. Kirkwall is the largest town and capital of the Orkney Islands of Scotland. The town has two museums, the larger being Tankerness House Museum, which contains items of local historical interest within one of Scotland's best-preserved sixteenth-century town-houses. At the heart of the town stands St. Magnus Cathedral, which was founded in memory of Saint Magnus Erlendsson, Earl of Orkney 1108-1117 by Earl (later Saint) Rognvald Kali.

Day 8 Honningsvag, Norway

The Port of Honningsvag is a very small port, the most northernmost city in Norway and gateway to Nordkapp (North Cape). All cruise docks are just a few minutes walk from the main street of Honningsvag, near shopping, restaurants and activities. Tunneled into the rock behind the cliffs sits Nordkapphallen, a visitor center with a souvenir shop, a post office, and a restaurant/cafe.

This third biggest cruise ship port in Norway, Geiranger is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and has been named the best travel destination in Scandinavia. Tours of the nearby historic farms of Knivsfla and Skagefla are available from Geiranger.
